About me

My name is Joseph John Baldwin IV, but everyone calls me Jay. A few people have grown fond of my nick-name/last-name combination, and have settled on "Jay Baldwin." :)

I live in Pataskala, OH, which is about 20 miles east of the state's capital, Columbus. I work at World Harvest Church, where I am a senior developer in the Information Technology department. God blessed me with a thorough talent of technology. I love my job. I love my Pastor. Above all, I love my God.

I'm very passionate about things I care about. That pretty much means Jesus, love, friendship, and issues of morality.

I love God. I grew up loving Him. God promised me one time, "I will make you the man that the boy you once were dreamed he would one day be." That boy wanted to be true in every way -- in whom there was nothing false. He wanted to be righteous and holy and loving and tender and caring... he wanted to be God's friend... and a friend to all who were in need... all who were broken... all who needed a love they could touch. He wanted to be humble, and gentle, patient... longsuffering... and kind. That's the man I want to be. That's the man God said He'd make me. I feel a call in ministry. From a very young age, I wanted God to use me, and not too much longer after I started my journey with Him He officially called me. I love my God. Nothing is too big for God to handle. He's a BIG freaking God... your greatest fears don't scare Him, your worst sin doesn't phase him, your deepest hurt doesn't make Him worried He can't heal you, your greatest desires can't use up all His power, and your wildest dreams can't bankrupt heaven. His name is Jesus. Trust Him. He's worth it. :D

My greatest personal dream is my family... to love them with all my heart... to be a man they deeply love and respect... to be a loving and caring husband to a God-fearing woman, and an attentive, loving father to children who aspire to be just like their Creator. I want to lead my family to my Jesus.

I have truly been in love. When I fall in love, I love thoroughly. I hold back no good thing. To steal a good line from a friend, love makes me weak, and I couldn't live without it. I believe the truest form of love is a gift of yourself, a commitment, from one person to another. Love is sacrifice. God is love. So to truly love, you *must* know both God, and how to sacrifice.

I have the best friends a man could ask for. Shouts to The Five! You all are brothers to me, and I'm blessed to have you in my life. :D

I LOVE to play pool. I also like tennis, but the weather has to decide it likes me in order for me to participate in that. My favorite TV show is House, M. D., followed by 24.

I like to read also, but I REALLY have to be interested in what I'm reading for it to be thoroughly enjoyable. Otherwise, I get bored. My favorite books to date are the Bible (particularly Psalms), the Harry Potter series, and the Left Behind Series.
